Let’s Play!
When designing Max’s new room, I came across this fun ‘Let’s Play’ sign on Etsy that was so cute, but a little higher priced than I was wanting to go. I will say, after putting the work into making one of my own, I totally understand the high dollar sign! But, in an effort to stay on budget, I decided putting in the work to create my own was worth it!
Here’s what you need:
Good quality board in the size of your choice from Menards, Lowe’s, Home Depot.. Whatever your preference. I used THIS ONE
2 1x2 wood pieces for the border - I used THIS ONE and needed 2
Stain for the border - I used THIS Dark Walnut Stain
Paint - I used THIS Chalk Paint
Clear Coat - I used THIS
Vinyl of your choice for your Cricut or paint and a stencil if you’re hand paint the wording {I used black}
Tools {Saw, nail gun, paint brush, stain applicator, hooks to hang}
How to assemble:
Paint the board with 2 coats of paint
Cut your trim pieces to fit around
Stain the trim pieces on all sides
Lay your trim on the board and measure remaining space to decide how big your wording should be
Cricut it out
Apply wording
Put layer of clear coat over the entire white board to seal the letters and give a clean finish
Apply clear coat on your trim pieces
Nail the trim pieces down
Attach hanging hooks to the back
Sit back and admire your work! & Send me a pic so I can see how awesome it is!
